Sanforizing

Sanforizing or sanforization is a finishing process for textiles made from most natural and/or synthetic fibers. The fabric undergoes mechanical compression and shrinks. This state is fixed, thereby preventing subsequent shrinkage of the finished products, and thus a later – unwanted – change in dimensions. Monforizing refers to the sanforizing of polyester blend fabrics on monforizers, special sanforizing machines.
